Q2: Maryland Newsletter
President's Report
Hi All,
Mark your calendar and register now for the MAHU Benefits EXPO on April 21st, 2016. Read more about this exciting event in this newsletter.
June 2016 is the end of my MAHU Presidency. Shawn Brashears is your incoming President and we all need to support her in every way possible. The team at MAHU is second to none, it is truly a group effort and I thank each and every board member for their support. Having Shawn as the incoming President certainly made my term an easy one.
Along with Bryson Popham and his team we dodged more legislative bullets that would have been detrimental to our livelihood and reduced competition for our clients.
Changing gears, I will continue to be involved in our association as it is vital to our survival. I will return from the NAHU Convention as your Region II HUPAC chair. You never know, the red white blue war paint might come out of retirement….
Ladies and gentleman HUPAC needs your support. If your thoughts, are, does NAHU & HUPAC really get the job done and why should I contribute? Do the legislators really listen? Please give me a call, send me an email, let’s talk.
I look forward to seeing you on April 21st at the MAHU Benefits EXPO.
Sincerely,
Alan Schulman CFP

Welcome New Members
Growing our membership is vital to our organization. A portion of your NAHU dues goes to your MAHU chapter so that we can help support our members with legislation that confirms the value you bring to your clients every day.
To make it easier for any of you who will need to be renewing your NAHU membership soon, you now have the option to do that via a monthly bank draft. Your monthly cost is only about $32/month (varies slightly depending on which local chapter of MAHU you belong to). You can click on the link below to go to the page on the NAHU site to select your local chapter and arrange to have $32/monthly drawn from your bank account. Then you don’t have to think about renewing annually, and the monthly payment may be easier on your wallet.
Welcome new and renewing members since October 2015!

May 9, 2016- GWAHU Charity Golf Event Please consider joining us as a sponsor and or player as we hold our 20th annual GWAHU Charity Golf Tournament on Monday, May 9th, 2016. We are proud to once again support CureSearch (www.curesearch.org) with a portion of our proceeds. We are accepting sponsors for the attached opportunites. We typically have over 100 golfers in attendance. Past sponsors have been very happy with the attention and response that they have gotten from this event. You will have a "captive" audience for the entire day. We have a great event planned with golf/lunch/cocktails and dinner/auction. We also have a family who will be speaking at dinner who has had a child who has worked with CureSearch to help find cures and treatment for cancer. We look forward to hearing from you on what sponsorship opportunity works best for you. We would also appreciate any donations for the auction. Click HERE to purchase a sponsorship!
